I really need to replace my computer to learn how to use new graphic program in order to find new job prospect (these new programs can not be run on the 10 year old one).
I would like to sell all 5 volumes of Cattleyas and their relatives . You can still find volume 6 quite cheaply to complete the set .
Any forum member in the USA interests in these books, please pm me with your comfortable proposal, I will consider all offers (sending books to other countries could be too costly to make sense)
If enough peoples only wants single volume but different in choice, and I can sell all five to five different persons I will try .

I will try to describe their conditions next

Thanks

Volume 1: The Cattleyas 147 pages
Dusk jacket has rubbing mark against other book on shelf, absolute clean & tight inside (this is the only book that I read once , the whole set is not even read)

Volume 2: The Laelias 154 pages
Dusk jacket has rubbing mark against other book, crispy clean inside

Volume 3: Schomburgia, Sophronotis and other south American genera 136 pages
I believe there are about 4 pages with printing flaws, too wet ink maybe, resulting in pages slightly undulated, pictures can still be seen though)

Volume 4:The Bahamian and carribean species 152 pages
less rubbing marks on dusk jackets, crispy clean inside

Volume 5: Brasavolas, Encyclia and other genera of Mexico & central America 198 pages
dusk jacket condition similar to others . crispy clean inside .

Since I have not even read vol 2, 3, 4 ,5, I assume some of these rubbing marks on the jackets may have already there when the publisher or book company send to me.

Any proposal will be considered, as long as you are happy with the number, and they don't have to be the same as what these sellers ask for
below are what you can find the price for them on the market:

How much?

Bill I have no idea what I should ask for. Although I need the money for the computer badly, I don't want to be greedy and rob other members for outrageous prices as on Amazon .
So you can pm me with any number that in your comfort zone, I hope I can sell all five to one person (but if there are five peoples who want 5 different volume, I'm willing to accommodate that as well, but the scenario of five peoples want 5 exact different volume can be daunting)

I want to emphasize that although they can be thought of as used books, I have not even used 4 of them yet, I actually bought them just to collect.

A great collection to have! I already own all 6 books but this is an opportunity for somebody to get a wonderful set of books. Hard to come by and pricey but well worth it! I hope you get a good price for them.

Wendy, thanks for the encouraging testimony about the worthiness of the Cattleyas set
This is the next one:

Dendrobium Orchids of Australia
by Walter T. Upton 237 pages
This one has a tear on the spine of the dust cover jacket . I did not tape or glue it back, since the new owner may have a better idea how to restore it to his or her liking.
I only browse thru it once, so the inside is very clean .
I hope 50.00 is fine with someone who is looking for this book, 45.00 if you don't care it is by Media mail
Amazon sells it for 66.83 to 143.54

Update- I am sorry , the book Dendrobium orchids of Australia is spoken for this morning

I did pay more than that number for them

They are Japan Orchid Growers Association register of awards
Inside are pictures & pertinent data
these are soft cover (a little bit harder than the AOS quarterly paper)
Vol 14 1995 runs from page 734 to 780
Vol 15 1996 runs from page 786 to 853
vol 16 1997 runs from page 858 to 921

Volume 14 has a bend at lower spine

Hi Diane

These are the pictures of Dou Dii Sentra & Dou Dii Spot from Mackie Orchids website in the past.
I don't think Mackie is on Orchidmall any more. Maybe they are no longer selling orchids.

The next one is
The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Orchids
by Alex Pridgeon 304 pages, at the time I bought it at Borders book store it is priced at 39.95.
I believe it has like 1,000 of species with pictures of them

If someone interested in it for 25.00 , pm me (or your suggestion price)
(shipping media rate is probably like 3.00) (13.00 for priority mail may not be a good idea)

The dusk cover jacket is slightly worn at top near spine, the hard cover has some friction marks at bottom where it touch book shelf .
