I have tried that and they still tend to grow above the medium because you can't bury the crown????
I would do like Monocotman. My plan is to let him grow out all his flasks and when he runs out of space take them off his desperate hands..NYEric - how deep a tray? 3 or 4 inches is close to that of a bulb pan.
Just throw them in.the Mail, labeled "home made cookies".Eric, I’ve 25 plants of lovely Lynne and only plan on keeping the best four or five when they’ve flowered this coming autumn….
funny thing is for me, i've started grabbing the rhizome with a wire and pulling that back into the pot (doesn't work for everything... but the longer the rhizome the easier) and using a tray or pot scheme that supports it... in plastic pots. i end up using galvanized wire to poke through the bottom. Most phrags I grow have besseae in the background. Because many of those have an annoying habit of growing upward, I like taller pots to accommodate that better.
