At least it's friendly and rather cute actually. My one bloom last year did very nearly the same thing. This season three blooms so far and two more spikes to go

Yep, the one petal looks like it has allot of extra tissue to it. Probably be fine on the next one.
The one petal seems to have tried to be another pouch. There are two more buds; and the previous blooming last year was normal (but short; this one lasted about 2-3 weeks+).
Second flower normal (flower dropped last week, and third bud blasted)

I agree, don't give up on it. 
Yes, I go to the exact photo, and link only the photo. I wish I knew how to imbed photos from photobucket in to the link.
