Yesterday afternoon and evening several hours snowing created a lot of chaos for Luxembourg traffic!!!

This morning at first light I had a view on a charming garden and landscape:

But, when looking out of that window where I have a view on my gh's roof (therefore my remark in your thread , Ross :)):drool:!!

It took me more than 1 hour of cold sport to clear up most of the double-frame plexi !

WOW. Looks cold. Not great Paph weather. Looks very pretty still.

We are currently suffering from terrible floods here. It just doesn't stop raining. There are some parts of the region completely inundated with water. Not bad where I am but here are a few photos of the creek just down the road. You have to imagine that this is normally just a little creek (a few metres wide at the most). You can imagine how flooded the major rivers are.

This is actually the footpath not the creek.

Wow, David once more I can only admire your great pics of flowing water with long exposure times, an extreme effect Imo!!!!

The snow is melting away very quickly here and soon, I am afraid, Lux. will have its larger rivers flooded too!!! Jean

I have the day off and had planned on working on an extension for my broom so I can reach the peak, but I have been hit by the 24 hr. bug. I may try to do the project this afternoon if I feel better. There is a chance of snow over the next three days (thankfully light amounts) with highs as warm as 28F (-2C) today and 10F (-12C) on Saturday. The lows for the weekend are predicted to fall as low as -18F (-28c). With it being so warm, today, it is the ideal day to get the last remnants of snow off the roof before we go into the deep freeze.

Wow, no fun there Jean, is the roof not slanted? Maybe a silicone spray will reduce thre friction enough so the snow slides off from now on?
Nice photos David, looks like a good place to plant some Phrag longifoliums! :p

Exactly Eric, this is my major problem, and this is the advice that I would give to everybody intending to build up a gh: never accept a too flat roof !!!! .

Because of building restrictions due to my already existing balcony (my veranda/gh is a lean-to one), I was app. not able to go above 2,70 m! I could have had a more/less correct inclination of the roof by going down to 1,70m for the small side height, but as I am 1,90m and as I did not want to stoop in my gh, the inclination (for 3m width) from 2,70 down to 2,10 is definitely not enough for evaquating lots of snow in due time! And this is my problem!
And yes Ross I have sort of broom with a very long shaft :):), useful, but workintensive at this point in time :)!!! Jean
