Back about 50 years ago I had a Sophronitis Orpetti plant that always produced over 20 pastel pink flowers in a 6"hanging basket. Not able to find a date vision of the original plant I thought it would be fun to see how Orpetti is being used now in breeding so I purchased 6 different hybrids from Sunset Valley Orchids last fall. I doubt I will see any light pink flowers but this first one to bloom is pretty nice.
Plant is 6" tall.

Wow, very nice! I purchased a dozen mixed mini cat crosses from Sunset Valley a while back and the first two are in bud now. I hope that they turn out as nice as yours did.

Nice form and color. I notice you have not removed the plant from the original shipping pot yet. With SVO I immediately repot but that is because of my conditions. You will find that the starter piece of the plant is in a cylinder of sphagnum moss surrounded by fine bark and perlite. For me I have to remove all sphagnum as it remains too wet and causes root rot. But every one, according to their own conditions. Cheers.

I too have to do the same thing with mini-cats coming from SVO. That cylinder of spagnum has to go.
