I'm shocked. I was really expecting a "dog" but this is nice! No matter what Roy thinks, it welcome to my home anytime!

Got a question - if you weren't told what the parentage is of this cross, would you have guessed it?

Rose, the flower currently has a nice, relatively flat presentation. Let us know if the dorsal remains that way or reflexes like spicerianum.
So far so good, no change 4 days later!

I don't know, but you could certainly ask her -- she's a great person and very knowledgeable.
Did email her, haven't heard anything back yet.

Here's a cross you may not have heard of, I'm not finding a registered name - spice x tigrinum, IMO should be Spicy Tiger. 3growths in a 4" pot. I'm thanking Tom (tocarmar), we did a trade in '08!

Some plants of that hybrid could be really great parents with complex hybrids.

Spicerianum tends to clump quite easily, but tigrinum can make really huge clumps in no time when it's happy, so the hybrid could lead to clumping complex hybrids. If you look at the colors, they are nice colors indeed, so it could be maybe just a step for breeding, but an important one...

Thanks guys!

I thought so too! The shape is almost all tigrinum, the spotting, if the petals had paddles, they'd be tigrinum. Eric says he misses the spice coloring? What! It's all spice! (He likes to mess with us ).
No, actually when I think spice I think of the bold red/purple dorsal stripe and bright green and white colors.
