Spiranthes

These are some Spiranthes spiralis I found in the zoo park of the city.... (it is located right next to the city...)

and their habitat type (for Olaf....but there are several more around the city...mostly maquis vegetation)

and a duck juvenille!!!!

Maybe a Spiranthes chickinensis ?

cool. the orchids look like the northern slender ladies tresses. are the all yellow ducks, and the patterned ones different sexes?

Hmmm..... Charles I really do not know. Might just be different colouration due to parents' difference in colour???

Love those stretched out petals! Don't ducks usually nest in the spring? Those little guys are gonna be cold this winter.

Tom, i think they will have grown in adequate size to face winter from November- December on, cause it is still summer here.. Only a light cool breeze in the evenings and nights... So the animals too (appart from the plants) might have gone crazy with this weather...! hehe
