At our recent show this plant opened barely in time for judging and I received my fourth AOS award (second flower quality award). Last year's blooming was much better with fifteen flowers on one inflorescence, but after almost a year of severe neglect I was surprised to see it bloom at all. This year fewer flowers but again two more inflorescences coming up. This stanhopea, while deliciously fragrant, is not overpoweringly strong like others I have bloomed. The plants is over two feet high from the top of the mix. The color is correct in the close-up pic. The 'beneath' shot is from that previous blooming; I had only my phone at the show and the 'beneath' pic was too blurry.
