And by classy, I mean warm. We've got a blizzard rolling in late this afternoon with 35 mph sustained winds and 50+ mph gusts. It should last about 36 hours and dump 18-30" on us.

If the power goes out, the 'chids and I are headed to the basement to wait out the storm in front of the fireplace. The wife can come if she wants - the bird if there's room.

I don't remember moving to Canada, but the evidence says I must have done so...

We only got a few inches preceded by ice, which pretty much wiped out Nashville, roads.

You're getting some real snow, so stay safe.

Southern Japan is more like Atlanta, so we can't hold a candle to you guys for winter weather, but the forecast for tomorrow is not nice at all:

All my subtropical/tropical plants are safely inside. Here's my kitchen at the moment - it is beginning to look like Eric's apartment :rollhappy:

Waiting to hear if Woodstream open house to be rescheduled or not

They have announced on their website that they are closed Saturday and will open Sunday after they dig out (call ahead). Earlier in the week they extended the open house to include next weekend as well.

Email from them:

Winter storm Jonas reached Huntingtown Maryland at 1:00 pm today, Friday January 22, 2016. Because we are experiencing increasing winds, cold temperatures, and a significant snow fall we have cancelled our Annual Open House on Saturday January 23. We plan to be open on Sunday January 24 after we dig out. Call us if you plan to make the trip on Sunday to be sure all is clear (410-610-6697).

Because of the storm, we have extended our Open House to include next Saturday and Sunday (January 30 and 31, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm). We hope that everyone stays safe and warm the next few days and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday the 24th if you can safely travel or definitely next Saturday the 30th or Sunday the 31st.

Regards,
Bill, Lynn, Zane, Spice, and Leo

The blizzard has hit KY and is moving on although it's
still snowing. We've got at least 15" on our deck and the
dogs don't want to pee outside. There's ice under the snow
and I can't imagine anyone stupid enough to go out to take ride.

I saw a very brief TV banner blurb on a nj TV station stating most nj counties under blizzard warning then numbers 90k without power. Don't know if they meant nj or overall
There's been a pocket from mid Delaware bay NE to se of philly where the snow has thinned out and Elmer is in middle! Lots blowing around on the ground

Just heard it was over 100k without power in nj, mostly ocean city county
