Last week just before heading out on a work field trip for five days, I spotted a bud on my phrag andreetae that I recently purchased I think from Main Street mike. A few plants are in my bedroom in a se facing window. After returning and seeing posts here about the same species I checked and the bud is just starting to open

Will take better pics up close when not late for work facing 1+ hr commute

Here's the next early morning quick try, won't quite get in focus

Very fuzzy flower!

The dead leaves are in another pot, thankfully

See, iPhones can make decent photos...

Most of my native orchid and orchid show pictures now are with my phone, but for things I really want to make sure I get some closeup clarity or it's a place I likely won't get to again for awhile I take more pictures with my old canon 5d(1) just to make sure. Sometimes the phone just won't focus and rather than throw the phone into the swamp I have my 'real' camera I use in manual mode.
I did just buy a tripod mount for my phone which I promptly forgot on my first canada trip (duh) and a shutter release

This orchid originally came from quintal farms, and is 'andreetae x sib'

Here is a pic of second flower and the 'spontaneous' seed pod .... do andreetae self pollinate sometimes?

This plant had flowered previous to my purchasing it, so wondering if it is strong enough to hold the pod and flower?
Also if anyone would like to flask this pod, let me know when it should be ready and and I'll collect it per your instructions (in exchange for some seedlings)

Dot, you had sent me pollen before and with my periodic inattentiveness i never was able to produce any seed of anything. If you would like the pollen from this flower you are welcome to it :) just let me know how to store and ship

Yes, andreettae and schlimii self pollinate sometimes, anguloi very frequently and fischerii self pollinate always.
The natural hybrids also self pollinate.

I sowed mine after 75 days when the pod started to split, with good results. I'm in Canada, so I can't help you out with the sowing. I wouldn't be able to ship you seedlings.

Thanks, Charles. But I think you should give it to someone else.
