I'd give it another go- the colors are lovely.

Rose, interesting about the neem oil.

Thanks for all the interesting comments. I haven't used any chemicals in the last while that might have produced the problem. I suspect the it is a problem related to polyploidy as well. I'll keep it for another year.

.... Rose, interesting about the neem oil.
I'm sure it's been mentioned here before & it's not new news but we've had some newbies joining so it bears repeating. It's best not to use oil-based phytochemicals on brachys, as oil often induces severe dieback & rot on the leaves. Neem certainly falls into this category. Any oil based phytochemical plus sunshine = potential disaster.
While on the subject of chemicals, at our club meeting, newbies brought in a dessicated plant with almost no roots, but they seemed to be temporarily winning the war on mealies! Joe Dixler is our mentor & he mentioned the use of peppermint soap, I believe it was Dr. Brommer's. He claimed he was visiting Glen Decker & his plants were beautiful & CLEAN & that's all he(Glen) used, no chemicals in his GH!

Lindafrog also mentioned using Dr. Brommer's peppermint soap some time ago, and I keep forgetting to get to a health food store to buy it!
