This is a cross of appletonianum x tigrinum that just opened for me. Its still a baby plant but the flower is just stunning in person

It shows some nice traits from both parents... a very nice hybrid.

This was a good idea for a hybrid. The pink-violet in the petal of each, and the markings of the hood have reinforced each other very well. I expect the glossiness of the appletonianum has not been captured well in photography. Kudos on you excellent taste in hybrids!

Mine is currently in bud. And has like 4 to 5 growths. The bud halted for around 3 months before it started growing again. Not sure what I did.

What are your conditions?

Thats strange that the bud halted for a while!!
I grow inside under lights. This is/was on a 3ft shelf with 2 medium 3ft botanical leds. Temps are high70s to low 80s days and high 60s low 70s nights and humidity ranges from 30 to 60% this time of year. Water as I can with a stupid amount of orchids, about every 4-6days. Fert every watering with Klite VERY lightly and every once in a while I use Grow More 20-20-20

I try to up the watering when in bud/spike for ALL my plants. I have had too many blast due to getting too dry. Tigrinum double bud that both blasted comes to mind!!
