The capsule on the left is 15 months old. That's tigrinum x godefroyae.

This is one of the plants I put in kanuma last year, and I think THAT WAS A MISTAKE.
Let me repeat, THAT WAS A MISTAKE. Do not toy with this.

Have gotten great germination from capsules left for 18 months and still harvested green. Not sure exactly when they finally turn brown because I've never let one go that long.

Nice.

That is probably the secret to get good germination. Most perhaps harvest their capsules at the 12th month the most.

Je te déteste, chez moi il pousse pas..
I hate you, at my house , he doesn't grow..

very nice flower!!!! good luck for the seeds. I would say, let the pod mature, the drier the seeds are, the better it is for germination.

tigrinum is related to hirsutissimum. One reason you seldom see hirsutissimum as a pod parent in hybrids is that it takes a full two years to mature seed pods. It would make sense if tigrinum behaved the same way.

Leo, do chiwuanum and esquirolei behave in the same way? I have noticed that spicerianum also take a while as I have pods which are 16 months and still not mature, but it see a lot of spicerianum pod parents in the register. I have chiwuanum OC, hirsuttissimum OC and esquirolei siblings in pod at the moment, all about 14 months (the reason for my question)

I am seriously envious of your tigrinum! Love the symmetry.
