Tillandsia ericii

Only few Tillandsias have flowers with such an intens yellow colour like Tillandsia ericii from Bolivia. I'm always deeply impressed when it is in flower.

I like this Tillandsia. It's not a species I was familiar with until today. Orange is a lovely color for a flower and not one I can recall seeing from the flowers themselves in this genus. I assume the flowers aren't long lasting, though, correct?

So far it is flowering almost a week and the flowers still look fresh. But I will watch the flowers fade away and report you in the end.

Typical Tillandsia foliage but a flower of a color I’ve not seen in Tillandsia before. Beautiful!

The flowers started to wilt ... so I think the flower period should last up to a fortnight.

Oh dear, epiphyte lust hits again. I'm sure it would love my patio in Spain. Did you buy this in Europe? Obviously, I *need* one now!!!!

Indeed, I think there wouldn't be any problem to grow it in a patio in Spain.

Yes, I bought it some years ago ... exactly in August 2013 .... here in Germany.
