Moss from that link may seem little hefty but it comes packed tight in a gallon bag,I divide them immediately into 2.5 gallon (jumbo) baggies in a single layer then place them under the grow lights. They multiply like tribbles (Star Trek fan here).:rollhappy:

Phrags love the moss just as much if not more.

Yes it does and not a bit,whole lot of work I'd say. Fertilized watering must be done from the bottom so moss will not get fertilized,only one in a basket which I dipped to see how it will fare..it didn't.
 
Bottom of the pot is a mixture of orchiata,perlite,charcoal and some sheet moss.Sphagnum is just a top dressing where I collect them (I know it is a double,triple work) when I have to spray for mancozeb or for pests.
