I have a Fritz Schomburg that I’ve had for about 6 years. I originally received it from someone in my orchid society who grew it for a number of years beforehand. She got the plant from Orchid View.

It has always only produced one new growth each year. As that growth matures, the previos one dies off leaving just once growth at a time.

Is there anyway to encourage more growths? Does anyone have any insight as to why this happens?

Thanks

I'd focus on growing the plant well. Phrags with besseae influence like pure water with light fertilizer and like to stay fairly wet. Good humidity and air movement. Slightly less than cattleya level light. Some try to grow out of the pot so if that happens repot them. Focus on improving your growing conditions and see if the plant branches out a bit. A photo of the plant might help.
