It's a neat little species with absolutely gorgeous foliage. And I'll never forget when my orchid obsession was just starting and I discovered these growing in the woods. It was thrilling.
The flowers are fairly inconspicuous in a woodland environment until they get illuminated by a bright ray of sunlight, at which they really shine (literally and figuratively). I don't think I've ever seen them in bloom this early in the year, though. I'll have to go brave the ticks and see if I find any in the woods. They normally start blooming around mid to late July in my part of the world.
