A bit small & shame about the divot, but it's definitely Minion's kid. Very dark without the typical washing out of color near the petal tips, & the pictoee is real, not a reflection of light. Sorry, too much going on right now to pull out the Nikon.

Love this miniature species! The backside of the flower is very interesting too IMO--it curles back like the spicerianum.

What a stunner! How would I go about obtaining a tranlieanum this spectacular? Is it just a crapshoot? Could this a polyploid situation? It’s the biggest tranlieanum flower I have ever seen.

The flower is leaning forward closer to the camera. Tony can tell us how the size compares to the average.

Correct, just a trick of perspective. It's typical tranlienianum size, about 6.7cm NS.
