Thanks ?

I was in Texas and did not find a source at that time too.

But you should try a really style barbeque

there is 'new earth orchids' near santa fe, new mexico that has a diversity of orchids, not just paphs

Sheryl of 'new earth orchids' is really a quite nice woman. I bought a flask of P. appletonianum f. album (for 133 USD) from her four years ago. But I didn't get what I paid for. It turned out to be something of the Cochlopetalum section. I didn't ever care much for that group. And it isn't even a f. album ...
As I wrote Sherly that I got a wrong flask, she didn't reply...
Be carefull, Nathalie!

You're welcome, Nathalie.
Besides that you have to do a lot of time-consuming and expensive paperwork for exporting your plants from the USA to EU. I would do that only for very special plants that I can't get anywhere in Europe and if the vendor would do all the paperwork for me.

I forgot to say that I wish your ill friend all the best what's possibie in this situation!

Thank you for your help and for my friend.
Yes I know for papers, I wanted to at least look at and advise ... but now with what you say I would not take the risk ...

hmm, I have to say that I've never done business with the orchid company in new mexico before. some of my family lives in the southwest, so I was curious to see if there actually were any orchid vendors in the state.

I would still go and check things out just for the fact that it will be so dry and brown in that part of the country, it will make the orchids (and the indoor humidity) amazing! also plants in flower or such would be easier to tell if it were the actual thing or not, unlike a flask.
(though that might be tough if you see something you love and you can't export it... :( )

best hopes and wishes for your friend; stepfather in southwestern new mexico also has recently found out about cancer (and his daughter just had treatment for cancer as well)
