(1943 V. Foxy Lady x V. merrilli var, rotori)

First bloom seedling from Motes Orchids, November 2021. Unfortunately, I did something to cause the last 3 buds to blast. :/ I think I let it dry out too much or maybe it didn’t like the fert change. It’s a tricky time of the year with the cooling night temps. But I’m happy with the flower. I really like the yellow on the backs of the flowers.

Impressive flower.

It is still a young plant so maybe the last buds blasted because of that. Otherwise lower night temperatures can do it. It happens to my V Stephen Scott Young every year in early spring.
 
Great flower. It is also nice to see people growing this type of Vanda which isn't too common, at least not north of Florida.

Motes says that merillii has short-lived flowers which seems to have been passed on to the hybrid.
