the spots on the leaves are really interesting. I wonder what the 'evolutionary' advantage to that was.
What are those spots? I don't remember seeing them on this species before.

Interesting that you have a spotted Max tenuifolia. I don't think they are very common.

Maxillaria reichenheimiana and pseudoreichenheimiana both have the spots. I can't remember which has more. I think the flowers are larger on reichenheimiana, but I traded that one away a few years ago.

I havent seen too many spotted tenuifolia myself, now that you mentioned it.
 
You just happened to stumble across these beauties, huh? What a nice
surprise!

I knew the discolor was in bud, but the Max's are grown up on the top self. If I didn't smell the tenufolia, I wouldn't of seen either. The Miltonia was hidden behind my Bulbo. fletcherianum leaves. It had two flowers on it,but the first was all bruised up. I got rid of a lot of plants,but the GH is still a mess from moving everything around repotting.
