Can both be an option?
I prefer the 1st because your eye has a clear sense of direction. It also shows off the best feature of a kolo hybrid ALL THE FLOWERS!
I love the focal flower in the 2nd image, but I find your eye gets lost after.

The first one for sure. The flowers are better displayed partly because they are pushed back a bit. In the second photo the flowers are a bit in your face and a bit all over the place.

WOW. Seven flowers. Amazing display Dot.

The salesman in me votes for the first photo, the artist in me likes it too. The first really shows why one would use kolopakingii or topperii in a hybrid, they give fantastic flower count & a thick strong flower stem.

The 'orchid snob' in me votes for the second photo because that is the more 'classic' flower quality award photo, it shows more of what the judges score on in terms of symetry, form & color.

Really you need both photos if you want to fully portray this plant.

The second one catches and holds my attention. The first one is nice, but conventional.

First of all both are lovely and so are the flowers and the plant!!:drool::drool:
The first one is mor conventional and shows all flowers in almost the same size and angle.
I vote for the second one 'cause it's got more verve and is mor lifely. Furthermore is features one flower and shows it more detailled, the others 'float' around this flower!!:drool::drool::drool:
Best regards from Germany, rudolf

first one. I like the arc of the spike. As I also liked your photos when you show the entire arching spike. I think the arch is graceful

The second one is too cluttered. If you want a photo to show the close up of the flower quality, I'd only use the first two blooms and omit the rest

I really like the first one as it shows the grace and elegance of the flower spike and feel each bloom can be enjoyed more!

I like to see flower detail in pix, so the second satisfies that, but the first is super nice too. Dot, all flowers in all poses make love to your camera. :)

I get distracted in the first by the brown sheaths.
Me too -You hit the nail on the head!

Agree - Yep both photos have their good & their weak points.

I like the first one, coz you get to appreciate the floriferousness that kolopakingii imparts to its hybrids. That must be a massive plant!
