Who went to the World Slipper Conference

So we haven’t heard from anyone who attended the World Slipper Conference . Who went, how was it and what did you get? My secret shopper sent me 4 vini maudiae crosses from Hilo Orchids. There was 6 of each cross. I was hoping to receive one of each cross in bud. To my surprise almost every plant was in bud or sheath.

Had a great time though a lot of the attendees were from Kona orchid society and associated with orchid digest not necessarily paph wackos like me. Made for great company but always would like to see more hard core slipper people

I may have gotten 5 flats of complex seedlings from HOF…

I went, but am now frantically preparing to display and sell at the St. Paul Winter Carnival Orchid Show tomorrow. Here's one interesting hybrid that arrived yesterday.

@Djthomp28 Here are the crosses first. I thought I would go and get select plants and a few seedlings from crosses I liked but none of the selects quite did it for me so I started looking at seedlings. Not organised at all (I guess as they get sold and repotted that happens and doesn’t really matter as they just grade stuff as it comes into bud). It was a treasure trove, James’ crosses, late OZ crosses, Tetsu crosses. Here is what I remember. I tried to get 3-4 of each

I failed to get the tag on those but definitely award quality. They didn’t want everyone pulling tags. Apparently quintal has a problem with birds taking tags so that is why they are so short. I don’t have any phrags right now and I was very tempted to get back into them

@CharlesD Thank you for the photo. What an awesome trip! I love the sunset/autumn color complex paph. I didnot realize Hilo Orchid Farm was doing a lot of work with those.

Wrapping the trip with a Hillsview stop must have been really nice!
