    Paph. Mean Bob

Dot's 2009 thread featuring this plant contains the story behind the name. I think it's on page 2. http://www.slippertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12105

    Paph laevigatum 'Don Ghiz'

Poor Don. Isn't that the way it always goes? It's like when a major league team trades a losing pitcher who goes on the next season with a new team to win the Cy Young award. You can have a plant on your bench for 10 years that never flowers and as soon as you give someone a division...

    NEW FCC!!! Marriott Orchids!

Doh. Don't mind me. It helps to read the original post. If I had, I would know that it was Paph. Magic Meadow and of course it has Paph. Yerba Buena in the background. :poke:

    NEW FCC!!! Marriott Orchids!

Don't know the hybrid or the parents, but looking at that dorsal I wouldn't be surprised to learn Paph. Yerba Buena was in the background on at least one if not both sides.

Hengduan flasks with a side of terror

Your compots look great. Indeed, Paph. tigrinum has a reputation for looking great in the flask and making an expedited departure for the afterlife shortly after deflasking. I believe Holger is the one who developed the multi-phase flasking process for Paph. tigrinum that results in a much...

    Charlesworthii alba (var. sandowiae)

What do you think of this clonal name

Based on my initial reaction to the photo, 'Bet You Wish It Were Yours' would be appropriate.

    Complex Christmas

Great group of wonderful old hybrids. For almost 30 years I have been wanting to add Paph. Aragon to my collection, but so far have just never been in the right place at the right time.

    Orchid Zone sokd again!

Maybe the new ownership will have a sales table at the Paphiopedilum Guild meeting in Santa Barbara in January. That would be a great way for the slipper orchid community to get acquainted. 58th Paphiopedilum Guild

    Paph eliotianum vs. paph rothschildianum

They may not currently be considered synonyms, but to keep the matter as confusing as possible, several Paph. rothschildianum plants were presented in the past to judges as Paph. elliottianum and were awarded as such.

    15th International Slipper Orchid Symposium • November 2, 2013 • Orlando, FL

It wasn't until I got home that I realized I never had time to take my camera out of the bag. Things were crazy (in a GOOD way). Such great talks and beautiful plants.

    15th International Slipper Orchid Symposium • November 2, 2013 • Orlando, FL

You should probably be seen for that condition. It can last longer than a month if you don't deal with it. I think there are some effective creams and pills. The symposium is always the first Saturday in November and unless something drastic happens, will continue to be at the same...

    P. NOT villosum

I love it. This looks like Paph. gratrixianum var. daoense and should be capable of delivering a spectacular show on a large, multiple growth plant. I sure wouldn't toss it in the compost.

    15th International Slipper Orchid Symposium • November 2, 2013 • Orlando, FL

Angela, there are a couple motels within walking distance of the Symposium, but I'm not sure they're any better than the host hotel. The comments about the loud music at the host hotel are true for certain rooms, but there is a quieter, newer wing with rooms that have been refurbished in the...
