    New gigantifoliums

Oh well I misunderstood your question. They come from Iweyshen. He's a member here at ST. Just curious: what does USFW mean?

    New gigantifoliums

It was Xavier who told me if I recall correctly.

    New gigantifoliums

Well, I don't want to bother you with the "it depends..." answers, so under normal circumstances it is ok to water every third day.

    mexipedium xerophyticum

Always good to see a mexi in bloom!

    New gigantifoliums

My other two gigs I have for many years are a little bigger, so I am not quite sure if they are already blooming size. Good to hear! Once gigs make good roots they can speed up like crazy. If you have a healthy plant they can go from new growth to flowering size growth in no more than two...

    New gigantifoliums

I will use them as mother plants. I do not like the primaries so much, but if my kolos bloom I will make a cross and send the seedlings to you :rollhappy:

    Papuanum bud progression

I am not a mottled leaf fan, but you guys should share pollen and get some seed to sow in the lab...

    New gigantifoliums

Hi everyone! Santa brought these gigantifolium siblings a little earlier, because snow is coming. In three days from Taiwan to Switzerland (with CITES and Phyto control). He must have some frickin' fast reindeers! Best wishes Yanik

    Adductum bud progression

Nice man! Seems like you own a very vigurous plant.

    "Easy" multiflora Paph hybrids?

I agree with the adductum, anitum and the stonei. But roth x gig is usually a pretty fast grower. And so are other gig primaries.

    Is this a Paph. Berenice?

There definitely is stonei in the cross. Could be a Stoned Berenice. But I have seen better SB's with bigger dorsals in the past.

    Is this blooming size

    No waay too small :poke:

    St. Swithin?

    Definitely Bel Royal. Congrats!

Issue with multis - leaf flopping over

I agree with all of you. My roths do this sometimes. In nature the wind helps to stabilize the cell structure of the leaf tissue, as said by cnycharles.

    Meep meep

Oh no! Sad to hear that.. I wish you all the best for you and your plants!

Trying my hand at sowing Bletilla

Wow cool. I started sowing orchids with Bletilla striata on P6668 when I was 16 years old. The stuff was growing like weed. I mean really! The best species for a newbie, that's for sure. You can expect awesome germination results in no time.

    roebelenii question.

This is very hard to tell as the variation within the philippinense species is much higher than in any other multifloral species. There are many colonies on several islands where roebbelenii plants come from. Not like the var. palawense that only comes from Palawan. Some of the best philis come...
