Ah you are wearing me out Istvan!!

That looks like a healthy bud coming along.

What is the size of this plant? I want to compare to mine to determine blooming potential.

I am not a mottled leaf fan, but you guys should share pollen and get some seed to sow in the lab...

Any closer to opening yet?

I managed to pick up a couple of budded papuanums from Ebay a month or so ago, one is finally starting to open...pics will follow when it does. They look exactly like yours, and I'm assured by the vendor (Popow) that they're true. They certainly don't look like my violascens. For some reason, I am a bit obsessed with this sp. and some of the other South Pacific Barbata, so I am pretty excited to see them open (and yours too), can't wait...only a shame I can't take any credit as a grower for mine!

Closer day by day. :) I have two ones, first I bought 3 years ago as a smaller plant, now it is NBS size. This one I bought 2 years ago, first ( "original" ) growth pushed up a flower stem but blasted. Just after that a new growth started to emerge and few new roots, too, and one and half a year later it is near to open. It likes warm shade and high humidity, with very weak fertilizer. I think these pacific barbatas hard to grow because if they have only few short roots and if it gets hurt, plant diminishes very easily.

Nice plants Dodidoki! Here are mine, sorry for bad phone pics...plant about to flower is first, then the budded plants together.

PS If you're wondering about the media in the surrounding pots, I grow most things in pure Seramis and will repot these too once they've flowered.
