    Deflasked gigantifolium and question

I don't get it why gig is so problematic in the US and other newly discovered species are not. It is not especially rare, well it is very nice, but not very rare at all. There are hundreds and thousands of plants exported from their natural habitats every couple months. Hopefully this trade will...

    Veeery hard: Guess the bud

Yes, but not fast enough ;) I am using bark, chc, foam and perlite. Anitums love perlite alot, don't know why. 4-1-1-1

    Veeery hard: Guess the bud

They are doing great. It is an easy species to grow. The leaves are big, only my roth 'Big Bird' is bigger (LS not leaf width). They are growing very fast, comparable with kolo. Some of them should bloom this year.

    Veeery hard: Guess the bud

Not under 16°C in winter, around 21 during the day. In summer up to 27°C during the day and around 21°C at night.

    Veeery hard: Guess the bud

I got the plant a few years ago as a NBS plant. The info on how long it takes from flask is around 10-12 years. It is likely that we see faster clones in the future as it was the case with roths back then.

    Veeery hard: Guess the bud

I don't have a light meter, but they get very low light amounts, a little more in summer. Almost no fertilizer actually, i found out that 1/8 or so every two weeks is ok, but I am not taking this too serious. Sometimes they don't get any for two months. Yes, constantly wet. They stand all in a...

Why photos posted online sometimes look nothing like they do on your computer

Well you finally got the solution. Thats a good thing. I sometimes thought that your pics look unrealistic, but didn't want to mention that. And always remember: if you spend too much time with color-correction, your eyes are going to adept to the changes and you might go too high in %-age of...

    Order from Orchid Inn

Very intelligent haul. Especially the roths. I got the same crosses some time ago. Some of them will be award quality, especially here in Switzerland where roths are usually crappy in color and shape. They are very vigorous! Four out of 58 seedlings died.

    Paph. anitum deflasked in pictures

New growths on multigrowth plants can rech FS in 4-5 years, which is pretty slow already. But nothing compared to rising them up from seed where you will have to wait 15 years as I was told by a Taiwan grower. But don't forget that roths took almost the same time before ppl started to propagate...

    Paph. sanderianum 'Melinau Paku'

Man this is a very good sandie! I have never seen sanderianum with 6 flowers until now. Guess you have set a new standard. Looks like 7 flowers is the magigal number now similar to roth. Congrats!
