There are also dumbo bettas with large pectorals. I got this pair for $2 (club auction). I think the male’s caudal fin is too big and can’t impregnate the female.

Interesting that Triumphans flower quality declined due to the conditions you mentioned, but that Rlc. Princess Shasta seemed fine with the less than ideal conditions.

If it blooms in the winter the color should be more saturated.

Has this been crossed with Epc. El Hatillo or Encyclia tampensis? Is there hybrid vigor that gives the plant even better cold hardiness?
