Did anyone else get photos of their select plants from Nick? Someone had suggested asking him for photos, so I did. He had 2 of mine, I can post later if anyone is interested. And it looks like I have one early bud starting on a select fanaticum I kept too.

I think for that cross it is a great result, and the fact it bloomed on a small plant sounds unusual to me. If I am not mistaken, these kind of crosses are often difficult to bloom, and deformed flowers are not unusual. You took a great photo too!

Robert, do you see this as further evidence that besseae and delasenroi are indeed two different species, since the progeny of the hybridization yeilded such different results? Or is the variation within each respective cross great enough that this only represents two extremes? Maybe we...

Ah, I went back and read what I missed. It was there all along. Duh! It also looks as if a new growth is starting to the left of the closeup picture.

Is it just the photo angle, or is the varigation pattern different? And if so, will it change to the mature pattern later, or is this a new pattern to watch?

I feel the same way...now that the first batch is potted, I find myself thinking about something else too....lol.
