    Callosum

Seems like the season is here. :) This is a plant bred by a nurseryman from Thailand, first bloom for me in indoor apartment conditions. This has the classic tall dorsal, pointy pouch, downswept petals and very tall spike. I find callosum to be heat-tolerant and tolerant to bud blast too...

    Paph. spicerianum

Beautiful! Is this regular size or one of those supposedly large-flowered ones from Taiwan? The leaves seem to resemble the Taiwanese plants.

    Paph. callosum

Beautiful specimen! Is this from selected breeding?

    Gorgeous!

Root growth time, should I fertilise the plants?

Food for thought: In sub-tropical and tropical countries where heavy monsoons are common and occur seasonally, wouldn't this be a period where heavy runoff and leaching of nutrients occur? Coupled with overcast days, is it a good idea to give fertilizer during this period?

Nice..! Now to make the flowers bigger! :p

    Two types of Paph. dayanum

Absolutely gorgeous specimens of this species. Dayanum definitely does not do well when grown hot. I think it requires low temps at night to be long-lived.

    2 Paph urbanianum

    Nice fridge flowers! :p

Brassavola - time 3: Bv. Little Stars

Nicely grown and bloomed! Angela, brassavolas have a strong spicy fragrance at night.

    paphiopedilum jokowii

A few Indonesian orchid hunters have shared pics on Facebook recently. To me, it looks intermediate between tonsum and javanicum. Thought it might be a natural hybrid but they say that the population is pretty large (hundreds of plants at least).

    A few warm growing Coelogynes

LOL. Get a different clone.. :p Rochussenii is variable, some have sparse blooms on the spikes, most of the sought after ones have flowers densely-arranged along the spikes.

    Aquatic Phalaenopsis

Very nice, John.. I also tried full water culture with a few phals, catts and oncid hybrids. The 2 violacea, bellina and a schilleriana adapted very well, and the bellina and violacea have been blooming continuously. Tried a couple of catts but they were much slower to adjust. Oncids are doing...

Need help with this Paphiopedilum ID

The leaves look a bit like exul to me.. Maybe a natural hybrid of vejvarutianum?

    Brassia longississima

Stunning specimen, David!:clap::clap: I remember your previous post on this species comparing the flower size (when it had just the one spike) with your verrucosa specimen shown above. Is it up for CCE/CCM consideration?

    Paphiopedilum praestans

Beautiful! How many fans is this plant? Can we get a whole plant pic please?
