Well, here they are, a few pics of my barbigerums blooming this year! All four original plants I got from Ross (the cross where the colored parent turned out to be an album/aureum carrier), plus the accidental division that fell off one of the green and whites when repotting this spring bloomed! The tally so far is 5 blooms each on each of the larger plants, with the largest, undivided aureum plant having one more bud coming, the smallest colored form having one blast before opening, and the division currently has one flower open and one possible in low sheath too! These have been open going on probably 3 weeks now, and I will try to get a few more close up pics later, but it's been really rainy here lately, so I'm not getting any help on lighting.
First, a group shot

And from the top! I love alternative views - there's so much more to see than just the front view, especially with species or hybrids that have interesting shapes, not just the flat and round as a pancake look!

And a close up of the best two - though they're all really nice & better than average!

Again, will try to get better close ups at some point - this doesn't do these justice being backlit... I brought these two into judging over the weekend, and while they did not score them, there was a very nice discussion and enjoyment of the plants, so I was happy with that. Said they really hope to see them back later. Talked about quality for the album, but not quite, and cultural for the colored. I hadn't realized there was one cultural award for one with like 18 blooms on it and another one or two with 8 or 9 blooms, but they certainly seem to have that potential in the future, being as this is only the second blooming for the colored, and the 1st for the album! Fingers crossed - I'll keep treating these guys nicely! They're such cute blooms, and obviously attention whores the way they put out the blooms, so definitely keepers

Ok - you're an absolutely brilliant barbigerum grower. Those are completely beautiful. I thought I was doing okay by getting three flowers off my larger barbigerums but five deserves a standing ovation!
