Hi!
I have another Laelia purpurata in bloom at the moment. This is a first-bloom seedling which I purchased from Kawamoto Orchids in Hawaii on eBay about two years ago. There are five flowers on two spikes. It's quite lovely, albeit an unexpected color. The tag says Laelia purpurata var. coerulea x Laelia purpurata var. Schusteriana. I hadn't expected the petals to be pink. But I'm not complaining. It has a lovely scent akin to licorice or anise.
These first two photos were taken using a flash:
And these next two photos were taken in natural light. The coloration comes through more in these pictures.
