Yikes! You're going to have alot of update pics to post! I just took a few pictures yesterday of what's in bloom in my much too tiny collection, including an Addicted Phillip, so I'll have to get posting! Darn I need a greenhouse though...my tallest ones outgrow even my tall 'display' shelf on my light stand!

I must admit I'm a bit surprised myself. When it rains it pours I guess. Half are older, mature plants and you would expect for them to bloom on a regular basis. The others are first timers.
I'm excited about the first timers and a few I haven't seen in awhile eg. Kolorands

David,
I have one plant left from a flask of sandie X Susan Booth bought many years ago. I have yet to see one in BLOOM! I'll be looking for yours.

Well you saw mine from last years post. You even made a comment. Was it that forgettable. :poke:

Hopefully this flowering will be bigger and better. Looks like there will only be 3 flowers again this year though. Will probably be another 3 to 4 weeks which will time it perfectly for our autumn show.

Unfortunately David the older I get the less I remember! How could I have forgotten that beauty! I embarrassly have even forgotten the name of the cross!

I can never remember the name.

So did you give away all your Formosa Lady seedlings or did most of them not survive? How close to flowering is your seedling? I like the cross. Looks like a PEOY but way more vigorous.

Funny you ask David. The original flask came from a guy in NY state. I think he lived near Buffalo and ran a business out of his basement. His name excapes me at the moment. He had every Paph species known to mankind at the time and a ton of hybrids, all seedlings. Reasonably priced and got a lot of it from Antec. Back to the story, I paid 250.00 for the flask which was higher then most stuff at the time BUT it was a sandie hybrid! Anywho, I grew them for awhile then sold the biggest as I went to shows and elsewhere to recoupe my investment. As luck goes, a local fellow who had bought one early on wanted to sell his whole collection. I bought it and this same plant I have now was in the collection back in 97! It's had a fewe ups and many downs! It's on an up swing at the moment:poke: About 12 inch ls I would guess, all others have passed on:(
I wish I could remember that vendor's name.....something to do with bloomfield I think.

the last pic is the coolest one for sure!!!! But all the others :drool::drool: !!!!

I have 2 of them (phillis, I suppose, no more trusting the tags :)) Jean

Foregot about my 2 budded malipo :)!

I don't think it worth opening a new thread for my update on malipo! so here the status : The first bloom did not open completely , the 2nd not at all! Here the best pic I can share! I intend to cut the 2 blooms, what's your impression on this? Jean

It looks like it will be fantastic Jean! The malipoense I posted did a similar thing. Three growth plant with two spikes. As it approached the stage of yours (the closed bud) one bud stalled. I unpotted the plant to discover it had fallen apart into three pieces with minimal roots! The piece with the stalled bud had the worst roots. I repotted in three pots and cut the stalled bud. I hope this is not the case with your plant Jean.
