The plant is a reliable bloomer and it and the flower seem to be getting larger each year. The flower has just opened and the spread is over 17 cm and growing.

Yay besseae hybrids! Phrag Perusian Beauty, I believe HP Norton named it after the region in Italy. I have been trying to get another one or 2 of those for months. Thanks for sharing.

I bought it from HP several years ago when the kovachii hybrids were first becoming readily available in the US. This one seemed to be a little more robust than the others. It had a leaf span of about 6 inches when I bought it, but now the individual leaves are more than 20 inches long.

What a beautiful pastel shade and I think it's the first kovachii hybrid I've seen where kovachii didn't totally dominate the shape. Very nice!

I don't like the faded colors on a lot of these types of kovachii crosses, and the shape tends to start out nice, then goes to hell as the flowers age.
But they sure are big, aren't they? They definitely make a statement, even non-orchid folks tend to be a little surprised and awed at the large blooms.

Would have expected this to be a little more dark in colour ---- but wouldn't think that this could be improved ---- beautiful.
