I was also expecting a darker bloom. Maybe it is darker from the sides. My plant went North and I hope to see it next time in Montreal.

Regarding the color, I have lot of these kovachii hybrids where the purplish kovachii is crossed with something red and the offspring is Pepto Bismol pink. Unless they have some redeeming attribute, they go into the trash. I saved this one because it was so large and it didn't twist up too badly and it is a strong grower.

Wonderlen3000, I don't recall how long they last. This one has been open for 3 weeks.
