Maxilaria variabilis 'Black Eyed Susan' back in bloom. flowers are small, but intense.

Hi Rick - I didn't know you had one of these. I got one last spring at Ashville and have had two additional blooms since then. Your plant looks so much better though. Mine seems to be going down hill.
This is what it looked like when it last bloomed.

I don't think I'll be able to cut loose for this month. At best I might have Tom bring a few plants down. Our annual Leiper's Fork Haunted Woods is running every Fri/Sat for the month of October, and I need to participate in that.

Maxilarias are pretty easy, and the piece of this clone I'm growing was originally a small rootless division from Ed M. It's grown quite a bit since I got it. Have you tried checking pot EC yet? Might just need some major pot flushing.

What I really like about this particular clone is how fast it pops out buds. I think there are five or so open blooms and buds total, but just a couple weeks ago the first bud just "appeared" out of nowhere!!!
