This is an uncommon species from Papua New Guinea that grows at about 1200 masl. I grow it in my terrarium under I-W conditions. It's a first bloomer for me. Unfortunately, the plant fell off the hook while I was trying to take pictures and broke off the spike. It's been in bloom for 2+ weeks, and the flower showed no signs of fading prior to me breaking it off.

First two pictures are with flash, and the third is without to show the darkness of the flower

Weird

I hope it keeps growing and blooming.

Do you know what section this one is? It almost looks like it should be with the blumei types.

It seems like a slow grower in my conditions. I was told that it can grow in hot conditions, but I am hesitant to try that since it comes from 1200 meters.

According to IOSPE, it's in Section Hoplandra with other species like B. contortisepalum and B. falciferum.

Have you found any dark contortisepalum?

There was a vendor at the Shore Orchid Fest I believe who supposedly had red contorts. Their plants got sprayed upon import and didn't make it. A friend of mine bought a bunch from a vendor at the POE. There's supposed to be a mixture of red and yellow in the plants he bought. Neither my small plant nor any of his have bloomed yet to my knowledge, so we're just waiting to see.

these are amazing, a fellow society member here showed on in may and it blew my mind. I think the judges agreed, it got pulled and awarded but I cannot remember the exact award. Keep this one going, you'll be very pleased
