I bought this from CalOrchids in 2019 as a large seedling. It is finally blooming for the first time. It gave me three flowers. One is stunning. One is okay. And one has an exhausted dorsal. It started upright with a horizontal wrinkle in the middle, and then it flopped by the end of the day. Hopefully all three flowers will cooperate next time.

I think, the stunning flower in the first photo shows the real potetial of this plant. So far the plant seems to stay more compact than other L. purpuratas. The plant will show you in the future if both matters come true ...

Very nice color and form. Two out of three on a first bloom is just fine. I’m sure Angela is smiling too.

Time will tell how this lovely thing shapes up. For now, I am enjoying the potential I see.
