These two are a bit early, they have been open for nearly a month now.
This first one is from Taiwanese breeding. It has grown well this season and has grown from a three growth (one mature flowering hand, and two new young growths last year) to a 8 growth plant this year. I was hoping for more than two blooms, but am pleased that they have fair colour and shape, and have held their dorsals nice and flat even a month after opening.





This second plant is an old collected clone from some years back. It has proven to be a slow grower and often subject to a range of maladies. This last year it has seemed a lot happier and seems to be growing with renewed vigour.
It is a bit paler, dorsal a bit bigger, but a more open form. I guess a bit wilder?

Both nice but that first one is incredible, I love the markings and color saturation.

Love the first one in particular. The dark colour is wonderful and the dorsal is so flat. They don't come much nicer. The petals and pouch are a nice dark mahogany colour. The staminode looks like a beacon.

Better early then late to the party I always say! Two beauties Gary. You are lucky to have them blooming. In 27 yrs of trying I have one holding its own in a basket of all things! otherwise it would of been dead 10 months ago. its one of the toughest species I've attempted here.
