Ya know, this looks a lot like a SUPER dark Black Diamond (dele x fairrieanum), so if it were a guessing game (and I couldn't see the leaves), I'd probably guess Black Diamond made with one of Theresa's dark fairries and dele vinicolor (dunkel). I know a couple dele x maudiae-type hybrids were around in the 70s-90s but they sorta fell off the earth. Certainly a line worth pursuing IMO!

I wonder if you can get that in 1st generation, or whether this is the result of a sib cross....I would have assumed double dark factor maudiaes are recessive?

Why was discussion and review necessary? I've seen a bunch of parvi x vini crosses recently. I never would have guessed they'd be so dark and vini-like.

Gold medal sounds pretty good to me. Color is fabulous, form is very good other than the asymmetric twist in the dorsal. Judging by the flowers around it, size is good. Proportions are very pleasing. Substance & texture seem good at least, stem sturdy... From here... I can see this ending up being a high AM or an FCC in the AOS system.
