Got some plants from Peruflora in June 2011, all looked great and I immediately potted them up. Somehow, something was not to their liking, their growth has not been what I expected (its me to blame). Nevertheless, that import has been a mixed blessing. One plant stood out though, being vigorous, but failed to bloom until now. It was a Cirila Alca, and here it is.

Quite nice, but it has now faded, the humidity is far too high, 85-100%RH so all flowers get spots fairly fast. There is another flower coming though. This Picture was uploaded using http://img.acianetmedia.com/
that Ozpaph directed me to in another (unvoluntarily) thread. Thanks, seems to work nice and easy. No need for Imageshack etc!

Quite beautiful. I'm not a fan of the color, but I do like the shape of the bloom. As kovachii hybrids go, the shape on yours is rather nice. Congrats. While I've read time and time again that kovachii is a slow grower (or at least slow to adapt initially), so far all but one of the kovachii hybrids I've owned has been just as vigorous as any other phrag hybrid.

On my monitor, the bloom looks salmon-pink and I adore it. The color
is unusual and the shocking red stripes set the color off beautifully. I'd
love to have this plant in my collection.

I'm glad to see that it should be such a good one to survive. Extremely vivid; intriguing form.

Yay besseae v. dalessandroi hybrids! :)
Can you post a photo of the plant, please?

I have a far too high humidity Level in my green-house so all flowers gets crapped-up with botrytis very quickly. After the initial photo, the flower has also faded and wrinkeled, but I guess that is expected. The light in this picture is not good , probablytoo much HPS

After all I do this more for the challenge of growing than for the quality of the flowers.
