This one just came out for me in the last couple days. I purchased it at our local show in bud, but lost 2 of the 3 during acclimation. The way she goes, I guess.

Anyway, it seems to be taking well to S/H! Lots of new root development!

Keep us updated on how you do with this one! It's apparently not an easy one to grow.

Tom, Louisiana Orchid Connection had quite a few last time I was there.

Very cool! I need to give it a try again. It was growing well for a while, but it experienced sudden death. It seems to be a bit touchy species.

Thanks! I also think its one of the more interesting of the Dens. I had to jump on it, as I'd never seen one before the show.

I've heard mixed stories of temp conditions for this species, some say cool conditions, others intermediate. I've had huge swings in temp, but keeping humidity in mid 60's and good air has helped alot, I think.

Beautiful! Do you think S/H would work for Den. suzuki?

I don't see why not, although from what I know, suzukii prefer somewhat warmer conditions. Evaporation in the pot will cool the root zone slightly. So long as you follow Ray's advice for transplanting, I've had good success so far. I use a heat mat under the pots and have it at 85F day, 75F night. You may not need as much heat, I live in colder climate.

Gorgeous! Do you know if this is the highland or lowland form of tobaense?

I'm not sure what form it is. Are there different bloom sizes or indicators I could look for?
