For those going through the massive spring rains, take this very seriously.

My neighbor just died today when his car got caught up in water he didn't think was that deep, and ended up upside down under a small driveway bridge in our little creek.:(:sob::(

I know, father of a clasmate died drowned in the highway!!!
Seems impossible(when she said me I was not believing her at beginning)
A river has broken its embankment and flooded lanes....

Tragic Rick, my best wishes go out to everyone involved in this flooding. We've had about 15 inches in the last 48 hours in the area and flood warnings are everywhere today. Not that this is any comparison to the hardships this storm has caused but I had to bail about 4000 gallons of water from my field mesocosms to try to save a field experiment that I have too many hours invested in to count, and we got more last night and in the forecast so I've got to go back out and do it today. Be safe everyone.

What a shame! :( I can't imagine 15"!
and we actually need some rain where I'm at, it's been dodging us - 1/4" in the last 48 hrs.

same here, all three counts. I was out looking for morels yesterday afternoon and the ground/plants were crispy or powdery in some places; we got a sprinkle last night but that was it. the storms evaporated by the time they got to our area; seems like many of the storms that used to track across the country and head for upstate ny are now hitting pennsylvania and points south. very sorry for the death of your friend/neighbor.

We haven't had rain like this in the 15 years I've been here. Someone proclaimed it was a 500 year event.

I'm supposed to go to work today, but so far the route I need is flooded again. We just got another few inches this morning.
