Nice one! I used to have one, and for a few years it did well, growing and blooming. Then it just up and died. i should really get another. I kept it cool in winter, good light, somewhat dry.

The funny thing is, I got all kinds of extra lights and a green house... but this plant grows in my dark kitchen window all year. So, it's the plant in my house that gets the least light. The medium is a well drained bark mix and I let the plant dry out completely before I water it again. I don't feed it very much either.
Is it used in any hybrids? It seems like crossing it to a laelia anceps (if it is possible) would give a good cross for cold tolerance and maybe make an easier plant to grow. Wasn't Ernie looking for cold tolerant plants for northern Fla?
