I think you will need to get hold of the original descriptions of the plants and see how they differ and then check which species your plant best corresponds with. There don't seem to be many photos of either species for comparison.

Given the similarity, Christenson who described the plant in 1995, must have compared it to the older pugioniforme and this would be in the 1995 description. D.P. Banks has been rearranging the taxonomy of these plants pugioniforme is now in the genus Coilostylis (as of 2004) and he would had to have compared it to hagsateri as well (I would guess!). These seem to be the best people to track down and ask about the identity of your plant.

I would keep the first name until there is hard evidence for a change.
