It's a bark mix. Medium bark from Lowe's I believe, with small Orchiata bark and top dressed with grodan rockwool mini cubes. I used a plastic organizer from Target bathroom section, that I drilled holes in. Inspiration came from Tom Kalina's tray culture method but mine is smaller (4.5" x 9") to conserve space. That's a cutie. How is it potted?
Sorry, I was confused. This one is 6 x 9. The smaller size that I use for compots sometimes is 4.5 x 6.Interesting idea on the container! I was wondering about that.
Thanks
Yeah. That makes sense. My main rationale for this one was that it had 10+ growths around 4" in size, and was in a 4" pot. The result I pictured in my head was this amazing plant with 10+ spikes (wish I could share that picture). It's been in this pot since around March 2020 It has about 6 mature growths I'm guessing it will have follow-up spikes over time which will be cool. The problem I might have with this tray culture is stolonous growths on lots of besseae hybrids!
