This is a first flowering plant and also the first this year.
My other two that flowered last year are still maturing the new fan.

This one spiked around October, which is rather late compared to others that spiked in the summer. So this one took less to develop, although it still painfully slow.

The flower is just opening but it is too small and the pouch is very small.
The spike is also very short, about half the length of the other two I flowered last year.

I just love the markings on the petals, so here it is!

Congrats, looks great so far. My malipoense went to orchid heaven a few weeks ago. :(

Sorry to hear! What happened? Rot?

Other than being slow, I'm only glad these guys grow and flower for me.
I was reluctant to try because of warm dry winter in my apartment.
I have all my parvis right by windows where it is the coolest. I guess it helps.

Now only if my armeniacum and micranthum will bloom for me one day!

I have no idea. The leaves started to get brown starting from the tip and it lost one after the other. I threw it away when there was only one leaf left. Strangely enough, the root system looked very healthy, the pot was full with thick healthy roots.

That's how I lost my delenatii last summer. Browning leaves with healthy roots.
Another of my delenatii started the same thing ( and nearly all my Magic Lantern album). By then, I had some dragon's blood and coated the leaves with it.
No more spread!
Delenatii is now in bloom. All the album Magic Lantern are pushing a new leaf!
Try and get some dragon's blood.

It is a small flower but I like it,,,,only if the pouch was larger..

The flower opened up more but the pouch is not getting any bigger. :(

Cool. It does have nice color on it. What's the foliage look like?

My big malipoense decided to grow this past year (instead of bloom), but I suspect it's going to put on a nice show in about a year or so. I really need to get more of this species.

It is still opening up, but the pouch is not. also, the pouch has uneven development on one side near the base. Oh, well.

It is a handsome flower and I will bloom it again.

This one is one of the smaller plants I have. I wish these were a little smaller. I'm afraid I will eventually have just micranthum and armeniacum. hahaha

I bought this a year ago from Big Leaf.
It dropped two bottom leaves and grew two new leaves under my care.
Then the spike came late in late October. Faster than other malipoense I have bloomed.
