Here's Rhododendron Mrs. Furnival...took years to find it, as all plants I got ended up mislabeled...but first bloom....

Very nice, I really like the color of the second one. Is there something special about Mrs Furnival, that makes her hard to find?

Its an exceptionally nice pink...I think of English origin...much nicer than the boring catawbiense forms all over the eastern US. It may not be that rare...but for some reason, every order I tried turned out to be a mis-labelled plant. This came from Meadowbrook (formerly We-Du) in NC, along with the other one. Southern US nurseries are the best sources for rhodies and azaleas, as they are cheap, and shipping isn't as high as from the west coast nurseries.

Fortunately the cold spell probably helped the flowers last longer...my pepper plants didn't appreciate it, but otherwise all my plants, including the outdoor orchids, are fine.
