Heather, it is sort of a weird freeing liberation.... I moved all of my plants from in my office to the greenhouse and I was sad for a little bit, but I a sense of relief knowing I didn't need to constantly pick through them, observe them every five seconds....

Just like the time my harddrive crashed.... I had weeks and weeks of music on it. I was very upset, but really what did I lose? I get the opportunity to start over again and be way nore selective and buy a seperate hardrive for my stuff...

How high do you manage to keep the local humidity? I tried an ascofinetia but I petrified it then rotted the roots trying to keep them too wet. DO you have some special advice for the neos? Yours look nice and healthy.

I'm in the basement so I don't really have much trouble with humidity; it is usually around 60%.

Haha, that's ironic, I'm still dealing with computer issues 4 weeks later....mostly my own doing but I understand what you are saying.

I miss my Paphs. However, if you know they aren't happy with you, don't you want them to be happy somewhere else? That's really what happened for me. I just knew the conditions down here weren't great for them.

Regarding the Neos...I'm still learning but I water them copiously in the summer (they are outside so they get the natural rain and rain water if we have a dry spell), I've just started letting them dry out a bit more for the winter...fertilize every couple weeks. That's about it. I guess my only major tip is that when you pot using the way I do, with the sphag. mound, I like to do it Jason Fischer's way on the bottle so there is a hole in the bottom. Then you can stick a finger up there and feel if the whole mound is really dry. If not, I wait a day to water.

Heather, I'm so sad you lost your angraecum distichum. I think they are so interesting looking. I have had one for almost a year and it finally bloomed for me. Such tiny tiny bells with a fringe. It still has one bloom left after about one month. They are so tiny you need to squint to see them. I wish I had a better quality camera to do justice to a photo.
