Les Varines

(kovachii x sargentianum)

I've been growing this plant for a little over three years. Slow but steady.
It's from Peruflora and I find that it looks a lot like the Phrag. damselfly from OL.

Makes me wonder if Peruflora made the cross using the kaieteurum instead of sargentianum. Anyway, still an interesting flower, but I think that it's more of a stepping stone for something grand.

It's an attractive flower, in that it offers an interesting variation on flower shape that you don't see often in flowers of this color range. But I agree, this one seems like it's more of an intermediate step in hybridization, with more potential as a parent in a careful breeding line than as a standout hybrid. But then, I feel that way about most of the PK primaries.

Thanks for the comments. Here's the second flower. Pretty much the same as the previous one. At least it's stable in shape and colour, ...

Yes sir, Lycaste...oops! I'm not familiar with certain groups of orchids and often confuse them because I don't
grow them.

The second bloom is going in the right direction for color
and pouch. Not too bad for a PK hybrid and perhaps it
will improve with maturity.
